I'm currently in Tokyo for an OSDL board meeting and the OSDL Japan Linux Symposium. I had a short amount of spare time and wandered through a large electronic store and found my "Linux Device Drivers, third edition" translated into Japanese.

So I had to buy it:

ldd3 in japan

It is much more expensive than the US version, and it does look a lot thicker than the English version. But for me, it was worth the price just to now know the Japanese phrase for "Linux device model" is "Linuxデバイスモデル"

"driver" is "ドライバ" and "hotplug" is "ホットプラグ" both of which I think I need to ask someone what that translation really means...

Hm, anyone know of any good gadget stores in Tokyo where I can pick up some different USB toys? I have a few hours to spare tomorrow afternoon and can pop over to Akihabara (the electronic district), so pointers of specific shops to look at there would be appreciated.
